After graduating from Manchester University, Johnny began his career as a script editor for Paul Abbott before moving to the BBC as Development Executive, working on a number of productions including The Scarlet Pimpernel and Dangerfield. He later story edited Peak Practice (ITV) before going on to produce the first series of As If.
Johnny and Julian established Shine Drama in 2002 and created and produced many international hits including Love Bytes (Foxtel, Australia), the award-winning Hex (Sky One), the International Emmy Award-winning Sugar Rush (Channel 4), Synchronicity (BBC), Disconnected (BBC), Demons (ITV), and the multi-award winning Merlin (BBC1). Merlin ran for five series until 2012 and sold to over 180 countries worldwide.
Johnny was co-creator and Executive Producer of the Urban Myth Film’s first commission the 13-part action adventure series Atlantis for BBC1 and BBC America.
Since establishing Urban Myth Films, Johnny and Julian have executive produced a huge number of international hits including A Confession (ITV), Crazyhead (Channel 4), The One (Netflix), War of the Worlds (Fox, Canal+) and BAFTA award-winning series The Lazarus Project (Sky).
Their most recent series is the blockbuster action series Paris Has Fallen, an exciting new series based on the Has Fallen film franchise.
